Biography:

A Stab series super-fan, Jason Carvey grew up with the Stab Movies, joining every fan site, going to every convention and buying all the original props and merchandise he could get his hands on. However this was still not enough for him, and, after a seemingly harmless conversation with a young woman called Amber Freeman in the Woodsboro's Scream comment section, eagerly joined the growing ranks of an underground cult desperate to keep the memory of the Stab films alive. Or so they believed.

While those wannabes acted out childish fantasies and vendettas, others in the Cult merely tolerated this behavior, seeing every new recruit as a potential patsy in their one true goal: to finally kill Sidney Prescott and Gale Weathers, who had - in their eyes - destroyed the lives of so many of their number. Whether this is a fair assessment, given the fact that all these members died during a "war" that they started themselves when Billy Loomis and Stu Macher murdered Maureen Prescott (at the behest of the Cult's orignal leader, Roman Bridger). Nevertheless, it is what the Cult believed and who was there to argue with them?

That was until Carvery and his best friend Greg Bruckner planned to attack and kill Samantha and Tara Carpenter, the nieces to the original Ghostface Billy Loomis. Ignoring the warnings and strict instructions that the sisters were off-limits (since they were deemed to be the perfect figureheads for the Cult's glorious future) they continued to plot in secret, only confiding in fellow classmate Ethan Bailey.

Unaware that Ethan was the son of the group's newest leader, William Bailey, the pair spilled their guts about their plans to the young student, who took a keen interest in their scheme. At Ethan's suggestion, Jason agreed to hone his skills by picking a target to kill. He settled on his film studies teacher Laura Crane, who had irked him by giving him an F for his latest class.

Stalking Crane, he began to catfish her on online dating apps, eventually inviting her out to a downtown Manhattan Bar. Tricking her into a nearby alley, he brutally murdered her in cold blood.

Returning home, he had expected to be welcomed back in triumph, only to be accosted by two masked members of the Cult. Cockily believing that this was an initiation, his arrogance quickly falters into terror when they turn their weapons on him.

He is stabbed to death by the Bailey siblings, while William watches on in silent approval.

Trivia:

  • This character is based on Jason Carvey from the Scream franchise.
  • Just like in the film; he is personally responsible for killing Laura Crane.
  • Jason and Greg chose Blackmore University solely because Samantha and Tara were going to be there.
  • Jason is a mega horror fan. Outside of the Stab series, his favourite film is The Babadook.

Notes on character:

While his fate sticks closely to the events of Scream VI, there are a few changes.

  • Jason was a perverted creep who openly expressed his disgusting fantasies about what he wanted to do with his victims, in particular Sam. He tended to stalk and kill women, murdering them in uncomfortably intimate ways. This appalled Ethan, a survivor of sexual assault himself, and led to him being particularly thorough in dispatching Carvey.
  • Jason wanted nothing more than fame, sex and to live a life of no consequences and regret, joining the Cult to live out his worst impulses. However, it was this that led to his downfall as his careless regard for any of the groups rules about discretion and secrecy led to the Cult's complete downfall.
