Biography:
Stu Macher was a charismatic and fun-loving teenager who had a passion for horror movies and a secret obsession with murder. He was the loyal and devoted partner of Billy Loomis, who he met and fell in love with at Woodsboro High School. Together, they embarked on a killing spree that terrorized the town and targeted Sidney Prescott, the daughter of Maureen Prescott, whose affair with Billy's father had ruined his family.
Stu had a troubled past that shaped his twisted personality. He was abused by his alcoholic father, who often took him on hunting trips and taught him how to use knives and guns. He also had a series of unhappy relationships with both boys and girls, who either cheated on him, mocked him, or threatened to out him and expose his sexuality. He found solace and comfort in Billy, who understood his pain and shared his love for horror movies.
Stu was also influenced by Billy's plan to avenge his family's honour by killing Maureen Prescott and framing her lover, Cotton Weary. Stu agreed to help Billy with his scheme, hoping to prove his love for him and bring him some closure. He also enjoyed the thrill and excitement of killing, which he saw as a game and a challenge. He adopted the Ghostface costume and voice changer to disguise his identity and taunt his victims.
Stu's first victim was Maureen Prescott, who he killed along with Billy at a motel room. Stu felt no remorse for killing her, as he blamed her for destroying Billy's life and family. He also helped Billy frame Cotton Weary for the murder by planting evidence and making an anonymous call to the police.
A year later, he went after Steve Orth and Casey Becker. Orth was Stu's former lover, who forced him to hide their relationship from everyone and regularly mocked, taunted and belittled him in public. He would also flaunt his romantic and sexual flings right in front of Macher, much to Stu's heartbreak and Billy's disgust. Steve would go on to dump Stu for Casey Becker, with Becker threatening to out Stu as queer if he dared to try and rekindle the relationship. Not that Stu wanted to anyway. He just wanted revenge against those who had hurt him. Stu and Billy decided to make them their "practice kills" and brutally murdered them at Casey's house.
Targeting Maureen's youngest daughter, Sidney, next, he infiltrated her friend group, starting a relationship with Prescott's best friend Tatum Riley. Meanwhile, Billy started dating Sidney. Though he liked Tatum, he still could not let his feelings of hate towards Sidney go, leaving him reluctant to carry out Riley's inevitable murder. To spare him from the pain, Billy agreed to commit the act in his place.
Stu's final victim was Kenny Brown, the cameraman of Gale Weathers, who was investigating the Woodsboro murders. Stu killed Kenny by slitting his throat in the news van, while Billy chased Sidney Prescott around the house during a Halloween party.
Stu's killing spree came to an end when Sidney managed to escape from Billy and reached Stu's house, where they had planned to kill her and frame her father for all the murders. Stu revealed himself as one of the killers and explained his motives to Sidney. He also stabbed Billy as part of their plan to make themselves look like innocent victims who survived the attack.
However, Sidney fought back against Stu and Billy, using her knowledge of horror movies and her survival skills. She stabbed Stu with an umbrella and electrocuted him with a TV set, causing him to collapse on the floor. She then shot Billy in the head, killing him instantly.
Stu Macher was a complex and conflicted character who had a dark side that was hidden behind his charming and humorous facade. He was a loyal lover, a cunning killer, and a horror movie fanatic who lived and died by his own twisted rules.

Notes on character:
While his fate sticks closely to the events of the original Scream Movie, there are a few changes.
- Stu and Steve were in an unhappy relationship, with the latter taking Stu for granted. He would frequently and relentlessly publicly mock and tease Stu whenever he was with his football friends, making Stu feel very alone. It was around this time that Stu and Billy's romantic feelings for one another were confessed.
- It was because of this and the fact that Steve cheated on him with Casey Becker that he and Billy targeted them for their first "practice kills". While Stu was reluctant to kill Casey at first, his attitude changed when she threatened to out him as queer to the whole school.
- While she never voiced this to Stu, Tatum knew and supported her boyfriend's feelings for Billy. He found this out when he stole Riley's phone and read a correspondence between Tatum and her older, protective brother, Dewey.
- Stu's hatred towards her and her friends stems solely from witnessing how Maureen Prescott's affair destroyed Billy's life. He goes along with the murder of Maureen - and attempts on Sidney's life - to help try and bring his life-partner some closure and prove his love to Billy.
